Teaching Personnel are currently seeking exceptional Cover Supervisors to support a number of partner secondary schools across Ashton, Stalybridge, and the wider Tameside area. These schools require confident, assertive, and highly resilient individuals with strong behaviour management skills who can maintain a purposeful learning environment.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor with Teaching Personnel, you will manage classrooms in the absence of the class teacher, delivering pre‑planned lessons across KS3 and KS4. A calm, authoritative presence is essential, as you will be responsible for keeping pupils on task and managing behaviour in line with each school’s policies.
Key Responsibilities
Delivering pre‑set work to classes across a range of subjects
Leading the classroom, ensuring routines are followed
Managing challenging behaviour effectively and confidently
Building quick rapport with students
Ensuring safeguarding and school policies are always upheld
Providing feedback to teaching staff after each lesson
We’re Looking For
Exceptional behaviour management — able to defuse, redirect, and maintain control
Experience working with KS3 & KS4 students
Previous Cover Supervisor experience desirable but not essential
SEN experience or willingness to support diverse learning needs
Reliable, resilient, and able to adapt quickly to new environments
Willing to travel throughout Tameside (Ashton, Stalybridge, Denton, Hyde, Dukinfield etc.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
