Support Worker ASC - Day Service (full time or part time)

Hedley's Horizons provides adults with disabilities day opportunities and activities that promote the ethos of lifelong learning and the importance of wellbeing in adult life. Hedley's Horizons is a busy, vibrant, and varied environment that supports disabled adults with cerebral palsy, communication and sensory impairments and complex learning needs including those with Autism Spectrum Conditions. We offer a choice of activities that meet peoples' aspirations, needs and preferences, thus offering a very individual programme with support from a highly skilled and dedicated staff team.
Hedley's Horizons is part of Adult Services which support individuals to participate in a variety of activities and enterprise sessions. It offers a busy, vibrant, and varied environment that supports disabled adults with autism, communication and sensory impairments and complex needs. On offer is a wide choice of activities that meet people's aspirations, needs and preferences, thus offering a very individual programme with support from a highly skilled and dedicated team.
We are looking to recruit support workers to be based in Hedley's Horizons at our Hub in Killingworth - experience of working with individuals with ASC would be essential with a minimum of 2 years' experience. This site offers a provision to meet the needs of adults with Autism Spectrum Conditions.
You would be based at Killingworth but there are two key locations, Forrest Hall and Killingworth, and the expectation is for you to be flexible to work across sites.
For part time applicants the days would be agreed dependent on service requirements.
Flexibility with an ability to adapt and respond to evolving situations is an important skill for our team that helps us maintain the highest level of care and support. Hedley's Horizons encourages career development and progression. We run a robust training programme and we also have development opportunities both within the service and across the wider Foundation.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants should be aware that the post will only be offered to successful candidates subject to an Enhanced DBS and barring checks as well as other employment clearances such as referencing in line with our regulator's legislation requirements.
Please note that this role is classed as regulated activity as it involves working directly with children and/or vulnerable adults. All shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a criminal records self-declaration form prior to interview, and all candidates will be subject to an online check prior to interview.
