Overview

Join to apply for the Digital Audit Graduate Programme (Autumn 2026) role at targetjobs UK.

Our UK member firms of Grant Thornton are part of a global network of independent audit, tax and advisory firms, with about 76,000 people in over 150 countries. We are a team of independent thinkers who prioritise quality, inclusion and integrity. We bring a different experience to our clients—personal, proactive and agile—and help organisations stay on track while delivering the numbers behind the story.

Real responsibility. Real impact. Right from the start.

Auditors are investigators, problem-solvers, and trusted advisers who dive deep into how businesses operate, ensuring the numbers tell the real story and helping organisations stay on track. Join our Digital Audit team to be part of the future of audit, working with technology specialists to solve complex client challenges using cutting-edge AI and digital tools.

You’ll work on developing bespoke digital services or analytics applications used tens of thousands of times each month. If you’re excited by innovation and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is your opportunity to shape the digital landscape.

At Grant Thornton we’re looking for actively curious, purposefully driven, and candid but kind individuals who want to shape the future of business.

Programme and study

Our three-year audit graduate programme is your launchpad to a meaningful career, a professional qualification, and a real impact on UK businesses.

What you’ll do

We’ll teach you by doing, with plenty of support along the way.

* Hands-on coding, developing and improving audit software solutions used across projects, ensuring quality, accuracy and compliance with auditing standards.
* Engage with data analytics, AI and machine learning to create dynamic audit solutions.
* Take early ownership of coding tasks contributing to larger audit projects, delivering impactful results.
* Collaborate with audit teams to provide clients with insightful data analysis and software-driven audit results.
* Develop a diverse skill set with exposure to different audit areas, working with specialists in data, risk and financial reporting.
* Use data and technology to spot trends, identify anomalies and support findings.
* Keep learning by staying up to date with regulations, developing professional judgement, and building relationships with mentors and experts.
* Study with support, with dedicated time and a team behind you as you work towards a professional qualification.

You have the option of studying towards the ACA qualification, a level 6 digital technology solutions apprenticeship or a level 6 data scientist degree apprenticeship. If you have studied something similar before, it may be more appropriate to study towards a Level 7 applied data analytics apprenticeship instead to recognise prior knowledge. We’re open to exploring other qualifications, accreditations or apprenticeships relevant to the role.

Who we’re looking for

We take an adaptable approach to academic entry requirements and consider strengths and motivations. We’re looking for people who want to contribute, spark fresh ideas, and go beyond expectations.

* Curious minds who explore ideas and ask thoughtful questions.
* Innovative problem solvers who turn data into meaningful insights.
* Collaborative partners who work respectfully and build trust.
* Effective communicators who listen, adapt, and express ideas clearly.
* Self-leaders who manage time, mindset and enthusiasm effectively.
* Career-minded contributors who take initiative and are motivated to grow.

What you’ll get

Kickstart your career with a structured three-year programme designed to give you real-world experience from day one.

* Fully funded professional qualification, including paid study leave, expert tuition and all course fees covered.
* Technology to support your learning and client work.
* Dedicated support network from managers, mentors and college tutors.
* Approach to work that helps you balance life, learning and work.
* Exclusive discounts on shopping, gyms and wellbeing services.
* Opportunities to give back through mentoring, volunteering or fundraising.
* Competitive salary and benefits package, including:
o Extra holiday options (including adaptable bank holidays and the option to purchase additional holidays)
o Life assurance
o Private medical insurance

What we expect from you

As part of your training, you’ll be provided with study leave to support completing your professional qualification. This is a substantial commitment and you may need to study in your spare time outside of work. You’ll also receive study leave before exams. You’ll need to be focused, committed and able to organise your time to balance all requirements of being a trainee.

Join the firm that’s shaping the accountants of the future. We’re growing fast and want you to grow with us. With digital-first innovation and an inclusive culture, this is your chance to shape what’s next. This isn’t just a graduate scheme—it’s the start of something bigger.
