Soane Britain are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract to project manage our ambitious expansion plans for our Thurmaston warehousing, manufacturing and office sites, including the complete fit out of two newly acquired industrial units and the repurposing of two existing units.
Purpose of the Position
Soane Britain are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract to project manage our ambitious expansion plans for our Thurmaston warehousing, manufacturing and office sites, including the complete fit out of two newly acquired industrial units and the repurposing of two existing units.
This role involves leading the design and setup of efficient manufacturing workshops, warehouses and office spaces that are productive and focused on employee wellbeing. You will collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to install and arrange machinery, storage, workstations and facilities, while managing the phased relocation of stock, equipment and personnel to ensure seamless transitions throughout the project.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Deliver end-to-end project management for both the transition of current sites and the creation of new workspaces across office, warehouse, and manufacturing functions.
* Prepare and manage all key planning documents including timelines, floor plans and budgets, communicating progress clearly and ensuring each remains on course throughout the project.
* Engage with internal stakeholders through structured meetings, bringing together managers across a variety of functions, including Manufacturing, Operations, Facilities, and department heads to ensure project deliverables remain on track and in sync.
* Oversee all aspects of contractor engagement, from obtaining quotes and onboarding to managing site activity, ensuring work is delivered on schedule, on budget and to specification.
* Ensure all health & safety, regulatory, and environmental standards are met throughout the refurbishment process, delivering a safe space for employee use upon completion.
* Engage with local authorities, landlords, and consultants to oversee and ensure the timely approval of planning applications.
* Work closely with machinery suppliers, operations managers, and the workshop teams to establish fully equipped manufacturing workshops, with layouts designed to maximise productivity.
* Coordinate with logistics teams and suppliers to install and configure storage, racking, and workstations for the most effective workflow.
* Create joyful office spaces that enhance the employee experience, including functional kitchens, restroom facilities, and inviting staff rest areas.
* Facilitate the sequential relocation of stock, machinery, and people in step with project completion stages.
Qualifications for the role
* 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
* Excellent understanding of manufacturing and logistics operations management.
* Proven experience delivering similar relocation projects.
* Sound understanding of facilities and infrastructure requirements for industrial and office workspaces.
