Role Description
This is a temporary hybrid role for an External Examiner for Biological Sciences at University Centre Peterborough. The position involves reviewing and assessing examination papers, course content, and marking schemes to ensure academic standards are consistent and meet quality benchmarks. The External Examiner will participate in examination boards, provide feedback to course teams, and produce reports on the standards and conduct of assessments. The role is based in mostly online with you only attending on-site once in 2026 for our Summer Exam Board.
Qualifications
* Expertise in Biological Sciences and experience in higher education
* Experience in academic assessment and quality assurance
* Strong analytical and evaluative skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high academic standards
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
* Experience as an external examiner is an advantage
* Advanced degree in Biological Sciences or a related field
