Pay Rate: £25-£35 per hour

Are you a passionate tutor who wants to inspire and empower the next generation? Prospero Teaching is partnering with local schools and Brixton-based families to support students starting their GCSE journey this September. We’re looking for committed, engaging tutors to provide one-to-one support in Maths, English, or Science- the core building blocks of academic success.
You’ll have the flexibility to choose when you work, with sessions available in the morning, afternoon or evening so you can build a schedule that suits you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Deliver dynamic and individualised tuition in GCSE Maths, English or Science, aligned with national curriculum goals.
2. Design lesson plans that target specific learning gaps, tailoring content and pace to each student.
3. Prepare learners for upcoming exams with revision techniques, past paper practice, and confidence-building exercises.
4. Support students with SEN needs, using adaptable strategies and empathy-led teaching.
5. Track progress and keep parents or professionals updated with clear, constructive feedback.
Requirements:
6. Minimum 1 year teaching or tutoring experience at GCSE level in Maths and/or English
7. Proven skill in making complex concepts simple, engaging, and relatable.
8. Right to work in the UK.
9. Must have, or be willing to complete, an Enhanced DBS check.
10. Comfortable supporting students with Autism and other learning needs.
Desired:
11. PGCE or QTS in Secondary Education or a core subject
12. Experience with exam preparation, EHCP’s or alternative learning settings.
