Salary: £60,000+ depending on experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Principal Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our nuclear site assets. Your responsibilities will include:
* Authoring and managing nuclear site assets’ design substantiation documentation to support the site nuclear safety case.
* Reviewing analyses, assessments, and calculations that underpin nuclear design substantiation.
* Supporting periodic safety reviews.
* Taking ownership of deliverables, showcasing your autonomy and leadership.
* Implementing design substantiation requirements effectively.
* Collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Site Safety Case, Human Factors, and Engineering Authority Teams.
* Mentoring and developing other members of the Nuclear Substantiation team.
* Working with the wider business on nuclear design substantiation activities related to site assets.
Your Skills and Experiences
Essential:
* Experience in the nuclear industry and familiarity with nuclear safety regulations.
* A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent working experience.
* Proven ability to produce high-quality technical reports.
* A determined approach to driving deliverables and associated activities to completion.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
* A broad understanding of multiple engineering disciplines.
* Chartered Engineer status from the Engineering Council and membership in a relevant professional body.
* Experience in nuclear design substantiation analysis and assessment.

The Site Engineering – Nuclear Substantiation Team
Join a dynamic team with fantastic development opportunities in both technical and managerial streams. You’ll engage in the design substantiation and safety justification of various site assets and facilities, spanning mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical engineering. Get hands-on experience with finite element analysis and simulation using cutting-edge tools and techniques.
