Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Headteacher for our Brewood School in the Deal area.
Brewood School is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls.
Based in Deal in Kent, Brewood School meets the diverse needs of pupils aged 11-18 with Special Educational Needs (SEN) including Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN), Autism, ADHD, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH).
Brewood School has two learning sites. Our brand-new site at Mill Hill serves as the upper school (KS4 and KS5), while the London Road site is dedicated to pupils in the lower school (KS3).
As a Deputy Headteacher you will aim to achieve the highest possible standards and outcomes for the pupils. You will be a trusted member of the senior management team. Responsible for the implementation of effective policies and procedures that support the high standards of educational. You will work to assist the Head teacher in the day to day running of the school.

Minimum requirements:
1. QTS or QTLS Qualification
2. Have similar SLT experience in an SEN environment
3. Up to date OFSTED and knowledge of the SEN education sector and desired outcomes.
4. Have up to date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience.
The ideal candidate should:
- Strategically oversee the school’s resources to support the achievement of educational objectives and priorities effectively and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the headteacher to clearly articulate, disseminate, ensure understanding of, and effectively implement the school’s vision among all stakeholders.
- Prioritise pupil achievement, safety, and well-being as the core focus of all school activities.
- Foster a culture of challenge and support to empower every student to succeed and actively engage in their learning journey.
- Articulate and uphold high expectations by setting ambitious targets for the entire school community.
- Exemplify the school’s values consistently through daily work and actions.
