We are recruiting for a Butterfly Volunteer Service Manager who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Main duties of the job
This is a key position to take responsibility for a dynamic service and to lead the volunteer programme that enhances the services provided by the Trust values.
Excellent communication skills are essential for this role as the successful candidate will be engaging with distressed families, supporting volunteers and engaging with external and internal stakeholders. Previous experience of working with volunteers and within a complex organisation is essential. The role will also include line managing the Butterfly service co-ordinator.

* Evidence of developing and leading a large scale volunteer programme
* Experience of working in a complex organization, negotiating with multiple decision makers and stakeholders
* Experience of working at a senior level with the ability to communication with all personnel
* Previous experience of leading and managing a team of people with the ability to motivate staff to reach a common goal
* Proven experience good organisational skills such as organising projects and events
* Experience of team working to achieve deadlines and objectives
* Experience of conflict resolution
* Experience of working within a ward environment / NHS

Essential criteria
* Highly motivated with the drive to build and develop the Butterfly Volunteers service
* Skilled in communicating complex information effectively with senior leaders, volunteers and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and externally
* Excellent verbal, written and data analysis communication skills in a wide variety of settings i.e. face to face, telephone, electronically and written
* Ability to present the strategic direction of the Butterfly service to internal and external stakeholders

* Oversight and management of Butterfly volunteer activity – reporting to key stakeholders

* Developing and assessing core content of induction and training materials relating to end of life and the Butterfly service
