Job Description An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join a major project team operating within a highly regulated engineering environment. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and forward-thinking project environment, supporting delivery of complex infrastructure works to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with project management, engineering disciplines, quality control teams, supply chain partners, and client representatives to ensure compliance, governance, and continuous improvement across the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Produce, review, and endorse Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), undertaking associated compliance verification activities. Liaise with Quality Control teams and relevant stakeholders to ensure verification of processes and documentation (e.g., ITPs, welding procedures, technical specifications). Ensure project quality standards are consistently achieved, raising authorised project documentation where non-compliance is identified. Review, maintain, and update the Integrated Management System (IMS) as required. Maintain oversight of package status and progress reporting, identifying quality risks and liaising with project and client QA/QC teams to resolve issues. Support internal and external audits, tracking corrective actions and driving system improvements to reduce non-conformances. Advise project procurement teams on vendor competence and quality capability to inform supplier selection decisions. Initiate and facilitate Quality Grade Risk Assessment meetings to ensure appropriate levels of assurance and control are applied. Promote a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across the project team. Required Experience & Knowledge Strong understanding of Quality Assurance principles within regulated industries. Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and contractor quality requirements frameworks. Broad engineering awareness across mechanical, electrical, and/or civil disciplines. Experience supporting complex engineering or construction projects. Proven experience working with structured management systems and audit processes. Preferred Qualifications & Professional Development Internal Auditor qualification. ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification. Degree (minimum 2:2) in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., Level 5 Quality qualification). Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., working towards or holding chartered quality status). Extensive experience in Quality Assurance roles within engineering, infrastructure, or regulated sectors.
