Centre Technician – Permanent, Part Time
Location: Leeds
Salary: £25,397 per annum, pro rata
Hours: 20 hrs per week (08:30 – 16:30)

Who are we looking for?
We are in search of a Centre Technician to join us at our Centre in Leeds, to provide general technical and clerical assistance to the construction curriculum areas in the college ensuring the smooth running of the curriculum areas such as ordering stock and equipment, setting up classrooms and practical activities, fixing equipment where possible, keeping tools in good condition, etc.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
* Ensure the provision of products and materials are in good working order for teaching & learning purposes
* Make sure that teaching areas, office space and stores are kept safe and well stocked with relevant materials where appropriate (disposing of waste as appropriate)
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations affecting the curriculum areas
* Prepare materials for students to work with, such as: cutting materials to size / shape ready for assembly
* Confirm material stock, are checked, catalogued, maintained and stored appropriately
* Perform PAT testing for electrical equipment
* Prepare for internal and external events such as assessments, training, open events, displays and community activities, etc for staff and students
* Carry out a risk assessment on classrooms and equipment on a regular basis
Qualifications
* English and Maths: Level 2 or above OR equivalent experience / willingness to gain
* Knowledge and experience using software to order stock and equipment such as netsuite
* Desirable: A qualification relating to Health and Safety or a willingness to gain
* Desirable: A first aid qualification or a willingness to gain
* Desirable: An Enhanced with Barred Lists DBS check is essential
