Overview
Richard Barnes Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced SENDCo to champion inclusive education and lead SEND provision. This role offers flexible working options: part-time (60%) or full-time across primary and secondary, with the possibility of shaping provision across both phases.
Contract: Full-time/Part-time, Permanent. Hours: To be agreed (100% or 60% FTE). Salary: Leadership L4 – L8 (£55,747 - £61,534). Site: Richard Barnes Academy. Closing date: 9am on Monday 22nd September. Start date: January 2026.

Responsibilities
* Lead the strategic development and day-to-day operations of the SEN policy.
* Ensure high-quality support for pupils with SEND and disabilities.
* Collaborate with the current SENDCo, staff, families, and external agencies to embed outstanding practice across the academy.
* Promote a culture where SEN/D is everybody’s business and foster inclusion and shared responsibility.
Qualifications
* Qualified teacher with a strong track record in SEND provision.
* Ideally holding or working towards the National Award for SEN Co-ordination.
* Deep knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive continuous improvement and inclusive education.
