About The Role Support Worker Opportunity - Kingsteignton - £14.79/hr Location: Kingsteignton, Devon Role - Support worker for 1:1 care - 48 hours per month minimum, plus additional leave cover. Week1. Sunday wee3. Tuesday Shift Pattern: 24-hour shifts. Staff en-suite bedroom provided. Must have a full UK driving licence and be able to drive an automatic car (car is provided). This is a rewarding opportunity for a brain injury support worker to provide one-on-one care at home and out in the community, helping the client maintain independence, safety, and quality of life. Our active client will need clear support to maintain boundaries to enjoy social interactions safely in the community. Our client has a cat and two snakes and is a real animal lover - our client needs some support to care for the animals. Snake handling is not essential! You will be joining an established and experienced team of support workers and therapists who will be able to train you on how best to support our client. Key Responsibilities: Support with daily routines and some assistance with showering. Attend a local day centre (board games, cooking, social interaction.) Assistance with food shopping and planning. Supporting client to prepare and cook meals that you can eat together. Support client to attend rehab therapies including triking and hydrotherapy ( you do not need to go into pool.) Support visits to see family and friends, attend the gym and local cafes and restaurants. Attendance at personal and group supervision sessions. The client follows a regular routine, preferring to be in bed by 6:30pm and is usually asleep by 9:00pm. Overnight needs are minimal, focused mainly on fall prevention and safety. About You: Experience as a brain injury support worker confident working with complexity and occasionally, behaviours that can challenge. Calm, kind, and attentive and able to set clear boundaries consistently. This is a key necessity for this client. Comfortable providing care over a full 24-hour period, including overnight supervision.
