Overview
As a Head Chef at HC-One, kindness is at the heart of everything you do. It’s a quality that touches every part of life in our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. You’ll help Residents by delivering meaningful, high-quality meals that support health and wellbeing, while considering individual dietary needs and cultural preferences.
As Head Chef, you’ll inspire your kitchen team to deliver nutritious meals that Residents will genuinely enjoy, and you’ll ensure the kitchen runs efficiently with responsible stock management, budgeting, orders, and compliance with food safety standards such as HACCP. You’ll work with central teams to maintain nutritional excellence and a smooth, well-organised kitchen operation.
You’ll also shape mealtimes into enjoyable, ambient dining experiences to enhance quality of life for Residents.
Responsibilities
* Inspire and manage the kitchen team to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals that meet individual dietary needs and preferences.
* Oversee stock, budgets, orders, and compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
* Collaborate with central teams to maintain nutritional excellence while running a smooth kitchen operation.
* Create dining experiences that are enjoyable and ambient for Residents.
Qualifications
* An S/NVQ2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery
* A minimum Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
* A good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
