Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer – Manchester Vertical Recruitment is working with a well-established engineering consultancy in Manchester who are looking to appoint an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant mechanical engineering degree and 2 to 3 years’ experience in the Building Services sector, along with excellent working knowledge of Revit. About the role This role is focused on providing technical input and design support for building services projects. Working closely with the project team and Project Leader, you will contribute to project delivery by applying your existing knowledge and experience, as well as the training provided by the company. You will represent the business both internally and externally, maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Key responsibilities Project Delivery Assist with the production of well-considered technical solutions for mechanical building services projects Collaborate effectively with internal and external project teams to ensure successful project delivery Support the QA process to maintain technical and presentation quality of all deliverables Project Leadership Lead by example in attitude, commitment, and work ethic Assist in the development of design solutions to achieve project outcomes efficiently Stay up to date with learning and development initiatives as guided by senior management Technical Standards Assist with design calculations, technical input, drawings, reports, and specifications to communicate project requirements clearly Develop knowledge across all aspects of mechanical building services design to deepen expertise Utilise CAD/digital delivery tools to ensure quality and consistency of project material while meeting deadlines Share knowledge and lessons learned with the wider team to support collective growth Maintain awareness of industry best practice and technical excellence throughout project delivery Package Competitive salary: £32,000–£42,000 depending on experience 25 days holiday (plus the option to buy or sell an additional 5) Hybrid working Tailored development plan to support your career progression Plus much more
