Adjunct Faculty, Artificial Intelligence
Location: Lakenheath, United Kingdom.
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach in the United Kingdom for the Artificial Intelligence Program.
Required Education and Experience
* Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Analytics or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
* 3-5 years of professional experience in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Data Analytics.
* Local applicants only. Adjunct faculty positions are not eligible for UMGC sponsored logistical support. Applicants must have and be able to maintain base access and their own legal status in the country in which they apply to teach.
Preferred Education and Experience
* Terminal Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Analytics or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
* Industry Certifications in ML, AI, Data Science from Microsoft, IBM, AWS.
* Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.

* Unofficial transcripts for all conferred graduate degrees with conferral date (or credential evaluations)
* Part of the selection process includes providing official transcripts.
* If your degrees were earned from an institution(s) outside the US: UMGC requires a 3rd party credit evaluation from a NACES approved vendor.

Role and Responsibilities
Your role as an adjunct faculty member will be to:
* Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed, conveying a genuine energy and enthusiasm for their learning.
* Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem and project‑based learning demonstrations.
* Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments.
* Demonstrate relevant and current subject matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
* Provide feedback to the program chair on possible curricular improvements.

Faculty Training at UMGC
All new faculty must successfully complete the online new‑faculty orientation, FacDev 122, as a condition of hire.
Position Availability
Position available and will remain open until filled.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Hiring Range by Degree:
* Non‑PhD: Step 1 $903 – Step 16 $1,173 per credit hour
* PhD: Step 1 $931 – Step 16 $1,215 per credit hour

* Health Coverage: Access to health care, medical with vision, dental, and prescription plans for both individuals and families, effective from the 1st of the month following your hire date. Adjuncts are only eligible for State of Maryland benefits. Adjuncts are not eligible for the State of Maryland subsidized rates and would be responsible for the total cost if enrolled.
