Job Description:
Active Schools aims to provide more and higher quality opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity before school, during lunchtime and after school, and to develop effective pathways between schools and sports clubs in the local community.
Fife council in partnership withsportscotlandis looking to recruit an Assistant Active SchoolsCo-ordinatorwithin theActive Schools team, Education.
The Role will include:
Preparing and leading a series of appropriate lesson plans, providing clear instructions and demonstrations.
Providing opportunities for all children to participate in sport and physical activity enabling the creation of pathways from schools to the wider community.
Identifying and developing an understanding of the needs of children and young people in relation to sport and physical activity, particularly in ‘hard to reach groups’ and adopting a targeted approach to engaging these groups to take part in physical activity and sport.
Building links with partner agencies and the local community to develop an understanding of the needs of children and young people.
Support Active Schools Coordinators in building a sustainable volunteer network for Active Schools within the school and wider community.
Ensure the effective integration, planning, management and delivery of Active Schools priorities.
Measuring and reporting the impact of Active Schools through collating and using data, self-assessing and reflecting, continuously improving and evaluating.

The Person
* You will be educated to SCQF level 9, which includes a degree or equivalent, in a relevant discipline or have experience of working with children in an education, sport, health, leisure and/or recreation environment.
* Experience in the delivery of projects in education, sport, health, leisure and/or recreation is essential demonstrating the ability to facilitate practical and/or non-practical sessions to a high standard.
* You will be able to identify good practice and promote the role of physical activity incorporating sport, play, health, and active travel, as a contributor to community development.
* You will also be able to show good organisation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work both individually and part of a wider team.
* Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
