Role Overview
The HR team needs to support colleagues with advice and support to uphold excellent people management practices and maintain positive employee relations. In this role you will act as a lead casework advisor on complex issues such as grievance, disciplinary, absence, performance, dismissals and the preparation of documents for Employment Tribunals.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide casework support on a wide range of employment matters, including grievance, disciplinary, absence, performance and dismissal.
* Prepare and support documentation for Employment Tribunal cases.
* Develop and maintain strong, consultative relationships with managers and other HR colleagues to resolve issues successfully in line with process.
* Provide education, awareness and coaching on employee relations policy to team members, managers and leaders.
* Keep knowledge of HR and Employment Law up to date and advise on the latest policies, practices and procedures.
Required Qualifications
* Extensive experience in employee relations.
* Well‑developed knowledge of employment law.
* Level 5 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
* Strong influencing, communication and coaching skills.
* Ability to support projects and work during peak capacity, and to collaborate with the Employee Relations Lead.
* Desirable awareness of the Civil Service’s HR policies and controls.
* Experience working with trade unions and ability to coach/mentor.
* Confident user of IT, particularly Microsoft Office suite.
* Must be able to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance through the vetting process.
