We are OCU One Company United. We arecurrently recruiting for a Systems Engineer. The role comprises thespecification and programming of PLC based control systems for awide range of industrial applications for various clients. SystemsProjects are predominately based in the UK although occasionallyforeign travel may be required.
JobResponsibilities:
General
Thecandidate will be required to advise and assist the designdepartment when specifying PLC based control systems includingcommunication networks.
Produce projectestimations quotations and tenders.
Organise& manage personnel and resource (materials) requirementsfor projects.
Ongoing engineeringmanagement.
Generation and coordination ofproject documentation.
Increase the employee andclient understanding in important systems design anddevelopment.
Cost conscious ensuring costs aremeasured and documented to support the project manager withbudgeting and bids.
Client liaison both existingand new via site visits and meetings etc.
Managerelationships with assigned customeraccounts.
Ensure adherence to company andindustry regulations.
Ensure the highest levelsof quality are met.
Key SkillsRequired:
We are looking for anexperienced Systems Engineer with a proven trackrecord.
The candidate must be a proficientsoftware programmer with extensive knowledge of multiple platformsfor PLC HMI and SCADA systems (Ideally Siemens and Rockwellplatforms)
The candidate must have experience ofElectrical control system project lifecycle from initial conceptthrough to commissioning and customersupport.
Experience of industrial networkprotocols and an understanding of Variable Speed Drive systems areessential along with a thorough understanding of hardwarebasedsafety control systems.
Ideally the candidatewill be familiar with the surrounding electrical control and safetysystems the ability to produce electrical schematic designs will bea distinct advantage.
The ability to projectmanage and undertake site commissioning of PLC based controlsystems and acceptance.
PreferredSkills Required:
Experience withsetting up managed network switches.
Designdeploy and manage network solutions tailored to meet the clientrequirements.
Knowledge and experience with theprogramming and setup of safety PLCs from a variety ofmanufacturers.
Experience with setupimplementation and modification of DCSsystems.
