Join to apply for the 225283 Clinical Psychologist (EG) role at NHS Scotland.
Location: Dalkeith, Midlothian AMH Psychological Therapies Service. Band 8A. 2 full-time (37 hours) fixed-term posts; part-time hours considered.
Responsibilities
* Provide a varied individual clinical caseload across the spectrum of psychological and mental health difficulties.
* Receive support via individual and group supervision; opportunities to provide supervision within the service.
* Possibility to supervise trainees/newly qualified practitioners (eligibility desirable but not essential).
* Contribute to training and development opportunities, including growth of the group programme and development of treatment pathways for a population with complex needs.
* Support service development through collaboration on multidisciplinary service initiatives and links with other AMH services and training programmes (e.g., UoE DClinPsy, UoS CAAP, South of Scotland CBT).
* Engage with a wide range of mental health services within the Midlothian HSCP; work with a multidisciplinary team across psychiatry, nursing, occupational therapy, home treatment, substance use, social work, and criminal justice services.
Qualifications and requirements
* Postgraduate qualification: Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical or Counselling Psychology is the minimum requirement on appointment.
* Eligible for HCPC registration.
* Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
* PVG Scheme membership/record required; if not current, an application to Disclosure Scotland will be necessary and deemed satisfactory before starting.
* Be prepared for possible changes to criminal records check requirements from 1 April 2025; if the role is classified as regulated, joining the PVG Scheme will be required. Details will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team.
