About Aberlour Glasgow Intensive Family Support Service (IFSS) (City Wide)
Aberlour collaborates with the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership and other Third Sector providers to promote the wellbeing of children and young people by offering caring and responsive support, especially important during the COVID-19 crisis. The Glasgow Intensive Family Support Service aims to deliver timely support to families to ensure children and young people can flourish at home, school, and in their community.
What we are looking for...
We are recruiting a Family Support Worker for 37.5 hours per week on a fixed term until 31st March 2026. The role involves working directly with families to nurture relationships, build on strengths, and help children and families develop skills and confidence, including evenings and weekends. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working for up to 12 months with families to support positive change and improve outcomes. We value collaborative working and relationship-based early intervention to support overwhelmed or excluded children and families.
You should have experience working with vulnerable families, assessing needs, planning, delivering, and evaluating interventions, and have knowledge of child and adult protection issues. Experience in childcare settings like Residential Child Care is desirable. A relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above, along with experience working with children, young people, and families, is preferred. Flexibility to work across various locations in Glasgow, including family homes, schools, and community settings, is essential.
