Overview
MCG Construction is seeking an experienced and driven Mechanical Project Manager to join a leading M&E contractor delivering high-quality mechanical projects within the commercial and retail sectors. This role involves taking full ownership of projects from conception to completion, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and budget adherence.
The successful candidate will manage fast-paced, live-environment schemes requiring attention to detail, stakeholder coordination, and effective leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage delivery of mechanical projects of varying scale and complexity within agreed timescales, budgets, and specifications.
* Oversee daily on-site operations to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and programme requirements.
* Conduct site surveys and participate in design meetings, providing technical input for project feasibility and buildability.
* Monitor project KPIs and financial performance, produce accurate Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
* Ensure strict Health & Safety compliance according to legislation and site procedures.
* Promote a culture of “right first time” delivery, aiming for defect-free handovers.
* Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements.
* Lead and motivate project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Skills & Experience
* SMSTS certification and valid CSCS card.
* Proven track record in delivering mechanical projects in commercial, retail, or related sectors.
* Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with attention to detail.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualification in Building Services, HVAC Engineering, or similar discipline.
* First Aid and Asbestos Awareness certifications.
