Base pay range
Salary (Grade 7): £45,767 per annum (full-time salary; will be prorated if less than 37.5 hours are offered). Hours: 30 – 37.5 hours per week. This is a permanent role with hybrid working available (minimum of 2 days per week in the office).
Location: National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
Overview
Our epic story is the Royal Navy and its impact on Britain and the world. You will join a diverse, values-driven team within the Finance Reporting group to provide expert financial advice, strategic support and constructive challenge to budget holders. You will support accurate financial reporting, planning and delivery of strategic objectives, and contribute to commercial performance and financial sustainability.
Responsibilities
* Lead financial support for designated business areas, particularly in project delivery and commercial activities.
* Help budget holders develop robust business plans, set budgets, monitor activity, and prepare month-end reports, commentaries and reporting packs.
* Collaborate with budget holders and the Executive; represent the Finance and Resources directorate at key meetings with Trustees and external stakeholders.
What you can bring
* Fully qualified accountant (CCAB/CIMA) with evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
* Tech fluency: Advanced Excel, solid MS Office; experience with BI tools or dashboards is a plus.
* Excellent collaborator: able to present complex financial information accessibly to Trustees and staff; able to draw insights, challenge constructively and make recommendations.
* Comfortable building models from scratch: interrogating large datasets and performing ad hoc financial modelling and scenario analysis to underpin projects.
* Solution-driven mindset: able to influence business planning through sound financial advice.
* Champion improving business processes: identify pain points and lead initiatives to save time and money.
* Able to work autonomously while contributing to a busy finance team.
