About the Role

We are looking for an organised and proactive Facilities Coordinator to join Nottingham City Council’s Housing Services team. This role is essential in ensuring our buildings and facilities operate smoothly and safely. You will be a point of contact for Facilities Management enquiries, handling day-to-day requests, recording minor faults, and taking action to resolve issues promptly.

Regular responsibilities include overseeing the post room, carrying out soft FM audits, monitoring compliance, and liaising with technical officers where maintenance issues arise. You will also complete weekly and monthly checks for legionella and fire alarms, maintain accurate records, and ensure office equipment is functioning correctly. Additional duties include managing car parking facilities and supporting staff with event setups.

Alongside these core tasks, you will periodically assist the Fleet and Facilities Manager with project work, such as archiving and fleet replacement projects. This varied role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. If you enjoy a mix of routine responsibilities and project involvement, and are committed to delivering high standards of service, we would love to hear from you.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

1. The ability to lift and carry heavy/bulky equipment.
2. The ability to work without direct supervision by dealing with emergencies and difficult situations in a calm and effective manner.
3. Evidence of working successfully in partnership across different sectors, building and maintaining good working relationships.
4. The ability to effectively organise and prioritise own workload in an efficient and timely manner.
5. Experience of effectively resolving customer care issues.
6. The ability to be creative, to be able to identify problems and work to create solutions.

Please note: The successful candidate must hold a full UK driving licence and be confident in driving a variety of vehicles. This includes, but is not limited to, cars, light goods vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes), Transit vans, and Luton vans.

You can find the job description for this post.

Please ensure you demonstrate clearly how you meet the requirements outlined above in your CV & supporting document.

At Nottingham City Council we believe that work is what you do, not where you do it. We offer different working arrangements, depending on the role, including hybrid working. Further information on Worker Types and what these mean in terms of how and where you work can be found on the for applicants page.

Closing Date: 02 December 2025 (midnight) - Please note there may be occasions where we close the advert before the closing date and we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
