About the role
As a Grounds Operative, youll be responsible for maintaining outdoor areas across our estates to a high standard. Working as part of our Estates team, youll help ensure our green spaces are tidy, safe, and enjoyable for residents.
This is a mobile role based mainly in the Bath area, so youll need to live within a reasonable commuting distance.
What youll be doing
* Carrying out general grounds maintenance (grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding, leaf clearance)
* Using and maintaining equipment such as mowers, hedge cutters, and blowers
* Inspecting communal areas and reporting issues (e.g. damage, fly-tipping, safety concerns)
* Ensuring tools and equipment are kept in safe working order
* Following health and safety procedures at all times
* Communicating politely with customers and responding to queries
* Recording completed work using handheld devices
* Supporting seasonal and emergency tasks when required
What were looking for
* Experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor role
* Good physical fitness and ability to work in all weather conditions
* Basic horticultural knowledge (weeding, planting, pruning)
* Understanding of health and safety practices
* Ability to work independently and manage your workload
* Good communication and customer service skills
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills
* Full UK manual driving licence (required)
Desirable
* Level 1 Horticulture qualification
* PA1 & PA6 pesticide certificates
* LANTRA training
Additional information
* 40 hours per week
* Based around Bath (mobile role)
* Shared van use (no individually assigned vehicle)
* Subject to a basic DBS check
