Davidson's Mains Primary is a non-denominational school situated within the Royal High School catchment area in the north west of Edinburgh with strong links having been established between the schools. We are looking to recruit a temporary teacher within our teaching team until 26/6/26.
A brand new nursery was opened in August and provides hours all year places. A further new building providing additional classrooms was opened in. In the main building there is a large double-sized gym hall, used for lunches, assemblies and PE, a Library, music room and additional GP space. The current school roll for Primary 1-7 classes is and they are formed into 17 classes.
The staff consists of a Head Teacher, two Depute Head Teachers, a Principal Teacher, 21 class teachers, 2 part time Additional Support for Learning Teachers and instructors of violin, cello and brass. In the nursery there are 2 Senior Early Years Officers, 3 Early Years Officers, 12 Early Years Practitioners, 5 Early Years Assistants, 2 Early Years Domestics and a part-time administrator. Our support staff includes a Business Manager, School Administrator, Clerical Assistant, Facilities Technician, P1 Early Years Practitioner and 16 Pupil Support Assistants.
The school has an active PSA and a supportive Parent Council.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
