Overview

On behalf of a local engineering company in County Antrim, we are searching for a Purchasing Administrator to join their growing procurement team. This newly created role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in purchasing or supply chain within an operational hands-on environment.


The role

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will provide support to a busy procurement function, helping to ensure materials, components and services are ordered, tracked and delivered efficiently. You will work closely with internal teams to support smooth operational flow and help maintain accurate records across various departments.


Key responsibilities

* Raising purchase orders and following up on deliveries
* Maintaining accurate inventory and stock records
* Communicating with suppliers regarding orders, delivery updates and queries
* Supporting procurement colleagues with purchasing tasks and reporting
* Assisting with ad hoc projects or continuous improvement initiatives within the department


Criteria

* Previous experience in a similar role is required
* Understanding of purchasing, inventory or supply chain principles would be advantageous
* Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) and willing to learn ERP/MRP systems
* Strong attention to detail with good organisational skills
* Effective communicator
* Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
