This position is based at our Head Office. You must live within a reasonable distance to the office or be willing to relocate by the role commencement date.
Job Purpose
Working closely with our UK buying and merchandise team, this role will be pivotal in providing commercial support for the Senior Buyer and will include all aspects of the product buying process. Following through on buying decisions and being a point of contact and referral for both the business and our suppliers will be an integral part of your role.
You need to have experience of working within a fast-paced commercial function. A keen interest in the toy market is a must, with an excellent level of numeracy and PC literacy with good Excel skills is essential.
You will need a flexible approach and strong negotiation, organisational, communication and presentation skills. The role will also require you to have a natural ability to build effective working relationships, enabling you to successfully liaise between internal teams, partners and with our supply base to meet deadlines and ensure projects are completed in full and on time.
Some overseas travel may be required. This job offers a great opportunity to fully understand the role of buying and gain valuable experience and knowledge to support possible buying responsibilities in the future.
Skills & Experience
1. Excellent influencing and communication skills.

5. Ideally 18 months to 2 years’ experience in a retail buying environment.
6. Experience in managing external suppliers is preferred but not essential.
7. Experience in liasing with internal stakeholders is preferred but not essential.
8. Accurate administration skills.
9. Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
Responsibilities .
10. Be the initial point of contact for both the business and suppliers for buying related issues and requests. Forging strong relationships with external suppliers to the benefit of The Entertainer.
11. Support the Buyer with the buying of a smaller category to including managing all aspects of the procurement function and KPI’s for this range.
12. Ensure that all relevant information for product creation is provided for the Buying Administration team to accurately set-up up products and raise purchase orders.
13. Support the Buying Administration Coordinator in managing the price changes and price establishment process.
14. Liaise with the Buying, Marketing, Retail Operations and Merchandising teams to support the agreed trading plan.
15. Work closely with Marketing and the Senior Licensing Manager to agree the catalogue content to be reviewed with the Head of Buying.
16. Managing the set up and maintenance of all promotional activity, including raising invoices and managing margin funding on the system.
17. Support the creation of ranges for our Wholesale Partners in the UK.
18. Provide buying support and share relevant information with our International Franchise Partners.
