Overview
CAD Engineer role located in Maidstone, Kent. Full Time position with salary £41,000 - £43,000 per annum plus overtime.
What will your role look like?
Responsibilities
* Development of Aircraft interior mock-ups and aircraft seats/suites for shows and presentations.
* Design and development of machines, mechanisms and processes for the production of automotive components, using sensors, pneumatics, linear guidance, poke yoke and "right first time" principles of part production.
* Creation of detailed 2D drawings and profiles and 3D models and schematics using Catia or SolidWorks software. Translating design concepts into manufacture, technical assembly and instruction packs.
* Collaboration with the engineering team to develop and modify existing designs and schematics, ensuring they meet project requirements, customer specifications, and standards as well as project budget.
* Review and validation of design drawings and models to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Identify and rectify design errors or discrepancies.
* Maintenance of organised records of design files and versions, including revisions, updates, and annotations. Ensure that documentation is easily accessible and up to date for project teams.
* Assistance in identifying and resolving design-related issues and challenges that arise during the design and manufacturing process.

Requirements
* You should be proficient in Catia V5 or SolidWorks 3D modelling and 2D drawing for engineering.
* Have a good knowledge of industrial design, conveyor systems, automation and production machinery.
* Experience with Automotive Engineering and machinery manufacture such as jigs and fixtures, mould tools and pressure lamination tooling would also be a benefit.
* And a background in the design of complex mechanisms and structures from scratch.
