Senior Clinical Support Worker

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role however it is important to note that UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa, you must also have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

The Frailty Assessment Unit (FAU) is a bespoke 6‑bedded frailty assessment unit with a multidisciplinary workforce supporting safe, person‑centred and efficient care pathways.

Interviews

If you are shortlisted for an interview for this role, you must bring evidence of the following qualifications:

* GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English.

If you hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications, you will need to bring an ECCTIS comparability statement for your GCSE equivalent qualifications along with your original certificate.

* A Full Care Certificate OR NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (we can only accept NVQ's from a regulated awarding body).

If you do not bring the above qualifications to your interview, then the interview will not proceed.


Main duties of the job

They should be able to work independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses and demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies at UHNM.

Key to this role is flexibility with the requirement for staff to work variable shifts over 7 days a week on a week‑by‑week basis within agreed limits. Currently the Frailty Assessment Unit is open Monday to Friday but will be extending to a 7‑day service. No night shifts.

This role requires the following qualifications and documents to be provided as part of the recruitment and selection process for this role, if you are offered a role and unable to provide these documents, we are afraid the offer will be withdrawn:

* GCSEs or equivalent Certificate for Maths and English, equivalent to current Level 4/ C or level 2 functional skills Maths/English.
* If you have completed your qualifications overseas you must apply or provide a ECCTIS compatibility statement.
* Completed Care Certificate.

Although it may seem frustrating if you have completed a degree in the UK or other professional qualifications our policy states we must have GCSEs or equivalent as part of the requirements for this role.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Educated to GCSE level 4/C or Level 2 equivalent, including Maths and English (ECCTIS is required for overseas qualifications).
* Hold a full Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (NVQ MUST be from an accredited awarding body).


Experience

* 12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent.
