Role Overview
The role is site based and will provide technical analysis and development of solutions in support of manufacturing processes, and will manage the deployment, testing, validation, performance, operations and continuous support and improvement of all technical, engineering and manufacturing applications within each Manufacturing Excellence and Quality and Lab Product team.
The role requires a balance of business process understanding and technical breadth and an ability to operate flexibly and agilely to drive efficiency and improvements to the manufacturing, technical, engineering, and quality and lab products.
Key Responsibilities
* Participates in the development and delivery of platform / product strategy
* Participates in the development of new products / features / fixes / technical solutions
* Manages the interactions with innovation teams and the communication / inclusion of the sites
* Identification of opportunities to improve products, systems, interfaces, business processes and performance by effectively exploiting technology to meet business objectives.
* Ensures continuity of business execution through ensuring applications within Manufacturing Excellence Products are fit for purpose (e.g. easy to use and reliable) and support the evolving business processes
* Meets an agreed risk profile (e.g. aging of technologies, controlled regarding regulated applications, aligned with business continuity)
* Participates in troubleshooting applications across multiple technology domains, products and business areas.
* Physical infrastructure maintenance - patching cables
* Controls lifecycle management for services owned by Site Tech
* Manages site aspects of archiving and decommissioning activities for systems that have reached the end of their lifecycle
* Participates in troubleshooting of applications across multiple technology domains, products and business areas.
* Assists the Site Tech team with the definition and priorities of tech systems for the site
Qualifications
Graduate in science, engineering, computing or similar discipline.
The fundamentals of an IT background are necessary to allow the ability to quickly triage problems to most likely categories to restore service.
Understanding of the business processes allows for the creation of alternative solutions to enable business continuity while the initial problem is being dealt with and to develop solutions for the business that drive improvements and value.
