Were looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team in Doncaster.
In this role, youll play a vital part in supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple Group entities, while also helping to maintain accurate financial records and controls. Youll process month-end journals, reconcile accounts, and work closely with other teams to ensure the integrity of our financial data.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone studying towards a professional qualification (AAT, CIMA, or ACCA) whos ready to take the next step in their career and gain hands-on experience in a supportive, collaborative environment.
What you'll be doing
As a Management Accounts Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting the Management Accounts team in preparing monthly accounts for Sofology and The Sofa Delivery Company
2. Calculating and processing month-end journals, reconciliations, and control accounts accurately and on time
3. Taking an active role in your own development, completing relevant training and accounting qualifications
4. Supporting the wider Finance team to ensure new developments are accurately reflected in accounting data
5. Assisting with expenditure, capex, and other AP-related accruals across all Group entities
6. Administering elements of weekly cash forecast files for Group companies
7. Completing balance sheet controls each month in a timely manner
8. Liaising with relevant departments to resolve accounting issues and reconciling items
9. Preparing national statistics data for ONS and supporting other ad hoc reporting
10. Taking part in ad hoc analysis and finance projects
The role is for you if...
11. Youre studying towards a professional qualification (AAT, CIMA, or ACCA) and looking to build your experience
12. Happy with a Hybrid role, both office / home work
13. You understand general ledger principles and double entry accounting, and have experience working with high volumes of transactions
14. Youre confident working independently and keen to grow your skills through hands-on experience
15. Youre comfortable with Excel and can use pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formatting to analyse data
16. Youre an analytical thinker with great attention to detail
17. Youre a good communicator, able to work with colleagues across different teams to resolve issues and ensure data accuracy
