About the role
As the Communications Manager, you will use your technical knowledge and in‑depth understanding of media relations to deliver RSH’s overall communications objectives. You will plan, deliver and evaluate a wide range of media activity, including content about RSH’s publications and announcements, handle reactive enquiries, write thought‑leadership pieces for senior leaders, prepare them for broadcast interviews, advise senior leaders, and scan the horizon for key media issues that could impact RSH’s reputation.

About you
* Experience of leading media relations in a regulatory or public sector environment, preferably with trade, national and local media.
* Experience of providing strategic communication advice to senior leaders at all levels.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholder organisations, including the media.
* Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating strategic communications activity and driving continuous improvement.
* Working knowledge of the range of communications disciplines set out in the GCS Modern Communications Operating Model.
* Self‑starting, able to plan and manage workload, meet tight deadlines and competing priorities.

Location
The role can be based out of any of RSH’s core offices – Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or Bristol – and is fully hybrid. Some travel within England between our offices and short onsite visits to social housing providers may be required.
Interviews
Interviews are scheduled in November and will be conducted via Microsoft Teams as a single‑stage process.
Salary
The position is paid with a competitive salary on the civil service scale, with exact pay within the given salary band. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award.
