Description
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Communications Coordinator to join our friendly team.
The post holder will work with the Senior Management Team to develop and deliver a communications strategy for Sport and Physical Activity using multi-channel communications to a broad and diverse audience, including internal communications teams, the Office of External Affairs and Communications, the Development and Alumni Relations Office and Colleges.
This role will be integral to effectively communicate and publicise Cambridge University Sport, its programmes and facilities to prospective students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Senior Management Team with the development and implementation of a communications strategy for the Strategy for Sport and Physical Activity (5-year cycle).
* Coordinate the centralised calendar for the Sports Service, to include sport and physical activity programmes (students, staff and the Community), sports events, commercial events and campaigns.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the Sports Service Website. Ensure content in specific areas is up-to-date and work with internal teams to deliver site improvements and innovations.
* Coordinate the Sports Service social media accounts (X, Facebook, LinkedIn) and deliver social media and multimedia approaches in collaboration with different Teams across the Sports Service.
* Establish a range of templates for social media, presentations, promotions etc.
* Gather and collate data for promotional campaigns and news items, liaising with University Sports Clubs and groups, sponsors, contributors, designers and printers.
* Support and contribute to the development of an alumni engagement programme through the writing of newsletters and relevant sports specific content.
* Support student sports clubs with communications training and education programmes, particularly the use of social media.
* Develop the Sports Services live sport streaming capability.
* Establish links to external sporting organisations to support the promotion of our sporting opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* The successful candidate will possess a degree level qualification / Level 6 vocational qualification or equivalent experience.
* Experience of website content management systems, social media, newsletter writing and stakeholder management.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and various tools designed for editing, organising, and managing digital content.
Applications should have:
* Strong planning, organisational and prioritising abilities.
* Expertise in a broad range of communications disciplines to include web content management, social media, newsletter writing and stakeholder management.
* Experience in communicating complex information to a diverse audience is essential along with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
The role holder will need to work a range of hours to support business needs, which will include some evening and weekend work and will also need to travel between Sports Service operational sites and attend events both locally and at national venues (Varsity Matches).
