Shift Work
Monday to Friday alternating Early’s Monday‑Thursday 06:00‑14:00 Friday 06:00‑13:30 and Lates Monday‑Thursday 14:00‑22:00 Friday 13:30‑21:00. 20% shift premium
Role Overview
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this role is pivotal in driving efficiency and continuous improvement within our manufacturing operations. You will lead new product introductions, optimize production processes, and implement world‑class manufacturing practices to enhance quality and performance.
Responsibilities
* Plan and execute new product introductions, including facility layout considerations.
* Lead Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews, driving design improvements.
* Analyze production flow, identify bottlenecks, and implement efficiency improvements.
* Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and shop floor documentation.
* Drive downtime analysis and implement strategies to improve quality and reduce delays.
* Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth integration of process improvements.
* Support quality assurance investigations and root cause analysis for field failures.
* Champion lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* 3 years previous experience in a volume manufacturing role with demonstratable leadership of team and implementation of change within an engineering team.
* Drive and enthusiasm.
* Creation of standard processes and procedures.
* Shop floor systems – works orders, cycle counts.
* Ability to understand the current manufacturing system and flow of parts.
* Familiarity with safe working practices and ensuring that others adhere to practices.
Familiarity with the following would be an advantage but is not essential:
* Production technician experiences working on X‑ray tubes, welding and mechanical assemblies.
* Any experience with clean room working.
* Test processes and procedures.
* Working in accordance with a quality system.
* Working in accordance with COSHH regulations.
* 5S, 6 Sigma practices, Kanban system.
