About The Service - Housing & Homelessness Services
We support individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk, providing accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women, and young people. Our approach emphasizes creating a welcoming, supportive environment that fosters development and well-being, offering more than just shelter.
About The Job
We are seeking a Support Worker for our 24-hour supported accommodation in Sunderland, supporting young people aged 16-18. The role involves supporting young people to develop independent living skills, providing advice, and ensuring they receive high-quality support. The team comprises support workers working in shifts, with training provided on all aspects of the role, including safeguarding, risk assessment, and housing management.
Key responsibilities include:
* Direct work with young people, including support planning and safeguarding.
* Supporting young people to develop life skills through workshops and external referrals.
* Maintaining high standards of documentation and compliance with GDPR.
* Participating in training, reflective practice, and team reviews.
* Ensuring the safety and maintenance of the premises in collaboration with the Housing Management Worker.
