Description
The key responsibilities for the Materials Planner role are:
Create and maintain purchase orders in line with MRP (raise new, expedite, defer, cancel) for site direct and indirect materials.
Escalate through Supply Chain Management on critical delays / issues, and then final escalation through Procurement.
Define SKUs as ABC and calculate appropriate safety stock levels (considering SLOB / NWC / warehouse space).
Control inventory levels (management of SLOB, extension of shelf life etc.).
Manage imports and process relevant shipping documentation.
Supplier KPI reporting (OTIF, VMI) and agree non contractual supplier agreements (MOQs / Increments / Lead-times).
Review MOQs (increases and decreases) in line with demand projections.
Raise supplier non-conformances (SNCRs) on suppliers in the Q-Pulse system.
Create monthly forecast for A class / high volume.
Liaise with Finance regarding materials that need to be included in stock provision.
Liaise with site EHS team to dispose of rejected (i.e. Status 32) materials. Profile
This Materials Planner role needs someone with previous experience in a similar role, including:
Experience in materials management or a related field.
Experience in using ERP system, e.g. ORACLE, SAP, MS Dynamics.
Experience in using MS Office (Excel, Word Powerpoint).
Educated to HND or Degree level.
CIPS Level 3 qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively handle supplier interactions and manage internal communications. Job Offer
