Job Title: Student Support Assistant (SEND)
Location: North Kent
Contract Type: Temp to perm
Salary: Up to £100 per day / £24,500 per annum (after 6 months temp contract) - Depending on experience
Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary setting in the North Kent area. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on helping students with additional needs reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND, including Autism, SEMH, and PMLD.
* Assist with classroom learning, ensuring lessons are inclusive and accessible.
* Support students with personal development, independence, and emotional well-being.
* Implement tailored learning strategies under the guidance of teaching staff and the SENCO.
* Promote positive behaviour, safeguarding, and equality of opportunity.
Requirements
* Experience supporting young people with SEND (school-based or care setting experience welcomed).
* Understanding of Autism, SEMH, or complex needs.
* Patient, resilient, and empathetic nature.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
* Manual Handling training is ESSENTIAL to this role.
