Role and Responsibilities
Project Engineer / Client Representative Engineer to join our client and be based initially 6 months in the office of an EPC contractor (Engineering and Design contractor). The client are building a new chemical plant in the area, they are ideally looking for a project engineer who will work with them to act as a client representative to sit in the office of the EPC contractor and coordinate/oversee design and engineering. The role will start in the design office and has the option to continue in their projects office and construction site. The successful candidate could have a background in either green and brown field projects for the client, ideally covering basic engineering and detailed design for process, mechanical and/or EICA packages. The role would be ideal for a project engineer with a strong technical background with a working history for the client or engineering consultancies. This will be a client side role, embedded into the EPC contractors office.
START : October 2025
LOCATION : Middlesborough
DURATION : 6 Month rolling (18 Month project)
RATES : Outside of IR35
HOURS : 40 Hours a week
PATTERN : 4-5 Days onsite per week (working at home as required)
Specification / Requirements
* Degree or similar education level.
* 5 years engineering package delivery experience.
* Technical background – Mechanical, EICA or Process engineering
* Experience working on a major CAPEX projects – Green or Brownfield
* Chemical, Petrochemical, Power, Industrial or Manufacturing background
* Leading technical packages through engineering and detailed design
* Ability to coordinate between engineering, contracting and projects teams
Candidate profile
The best candidates will be able to coordinate or assist technical packages from a client perspective. They will have to have a strong technical knowledge to deal with various challenges which will occur through the design process. You will be working as the clients eyes in the engineering contractors offices, ensuring a high quality delivery to the clients requirement.
