Job responsibilities Prioritise workload to meet delivery schedules and facilitate hospital discharge for patients/service users Undertake a risk assessment of the patients/service users environment for the safe delivery and installation of equipment To deliver, assemble and collect equipment from peoples home addresses and complete the delivery records To set up and demonstrate the safe use of manual and electrical equipment to patients, service users and carers Communicate effectively with members of the multi-disciplinary team Support and deal sensitively with recently bereaved families and carers when collecting equipment Report any incidents or concerns to equipment co-ordinator or community equipment nurse Adhere to delivery schedules identified within the Liverpool terminal care pathway Collections - Collect used/contaminated equipment in a safe manner in compliance with infection control requirements Stores undertake general warehouse and storekeeping duties Advise the co-ordinator of minimum stock levels Cleaning of equipment - Undertake cleaning of equipment as identified in infection control and local policies Inspect all returned equipment for damage and carry out routine maintenance repairs as necessary. Report major defects to the co-ordinator To take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and others in the working environment and comply with instructions on safe moving and handling practices To attend health and safety and equipment awareness training to maintain up to date skills and knowledge Report any adverse incidents using Radar reports.
