About the role
As an integral part of our busy property department, the Property Secretary plays a vital role in supporting fee earners through a range of administrative and secretarial tasks. This position is key to maintaining efficient workflows, delivering a professional service to clients, and ensuring compliance.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and format legal documents, correspondence and forms using Microsoft Word and Excel
* Manage diaries, schedule appointments and coordinate meetings
* Maintain accurate digital and physical filing systems, including archiving and retrieval
* Handle billing processes and financial administration
* Respond to telephone and email enquiries professionally and discreetly
* Liaise confidently with colleagues and external clients
* Draft routine legal documents using standard templates
* Maintain client files in line with Lexcel standards and firm protocols
* Ensure compliance with SRA regulations, Money Laundering Rules and internal policies
The ideal candidate
To be considered for this role you must have the following:
* 2 years’ experience in a secretarial or administrative role within a legal environment
* Experience in commercial or residential property is preferred
* Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and legal software e.g. Aderant (or similar case management systems)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy
