About the role
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same.
You will play an important role in the daily operations of our store by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and maintaining the store’s appearance.
Since the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will constantly look for ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback.
You will help ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
Responsibilities include:
* Serving customers with passion and pride, providing natural and great service.
* Encouraging customer feedback via surveys.
* Working across various store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines.
* Practicing safety procedures learned during training.
* Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events.
* Understanding store performance and your role in delivering profit.
* Living our values, making everyone feel welcome, and following policies.
* Clocking in and out accurately for payroll.
* Following security procedures and wearing safety equipment.
* Following the 'think 25' policy for age-restricted products.
* Responding promptly to assistance calls, explaining actions to customers.
* Maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
* Potentially managing shifts in absence of supervisors.
* Following all safety and legal training.
If the store has a Post Office Local, duties will include managing daily operations of the post office, requiring passing a background check. Failure to pass will result in withdrawal of the job offer.
