About Aquarius

Aquarius Action Projects is a long-established charity (since 1977) based in Birmingham with a national reach of contracts and Partnerships. Aquarius is a subsidiary of Waythrough – a large charity that specialises in mental health, alcohol, drugs and related areas.

Waythrough was formed in 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Together, we’ve created one of the largest mental health and social support charities in England.

Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services – and it’s all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.

Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the Role

As a Café and Events Supervisor, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of busy café and events operations across Evolve sites. Alongside operational duties, you will support the development of volunteers through training and supervision, contributing to a positive and inclusive working environment. This is a varied and hands-on role requiring strong organisation, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Key Duties

6. Support the coordination and delivery of catering for events and bookings
7. Liaise with internal teams regarding bookings and operations
8. Produce sales reports and maintain accurate financial and booking records
9. Assist with rotas and day-to-day staffing across sites
10. Train, support, and supervise volunteers, including regular check-ins
11. Implement menu updates and contribute ideas to improve sales and service
12. Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures

About You

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about hospitality. You’ll be a strong communicator who can work both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to stay organised in a busy environment.

You will ideally have:

17. An understanding of stock control and basic financial processes
18. A positive attitude and willingness to learn
19. Good timekeeping and a professional approach

Experience supporting or working with young people or individuals with additional needs would be an advantage, but not essential.
