M&E Manager (Project Engineering) – Environment
What you will be doing:
Join Galliford Try as an M&E Manager (Project Engineering). You will undertake project engineer duties and manage the project engineering team on the Southern Water framework, providing guidance, support, and performance review. Your role involves coordinating electrical and mechanical engineering processes within civil works across water and wastewater treatment projects, ensuring scope delivery aligns with design and specifications, and collaborating with project management, construction, procurement, and supply chain teams to develop MEICA packages within cost and schedule targets. Extensive liaison with the engineering team and technical support during pre-cost agreement phases are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage, coordinate, deploy, and develop the Project Engineering team
* Coordinate mechanical/electrical technical solutions ensuring compliance with design and regulations
* Ensure integration of equipment into civil design
* Identify, plan, and coordinate engineering interfaces and advise project managers
* Manage execution of work packages through all project phases
* Provide technical assurance and coordinate with supply chain engineering
* Liaise with procurement, QS, and design teams for timely work packages
* Implement Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies
* Promote safe working practices and conduct safety inspections
* Maintain effective technical interfaces among design, construction, commissioning, and supply chain teams
* Report on project delivery aspects, performance, and issues
* Manage change control and technical queries
* Engage early with commissioning teams
* Participate in site meetings, quality reviews, and Factory Acceptance Tests
* Implement continuous improvement and lessons learned
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors
About You:
* Ability to lead and manage teams
* Experience in a similar role
* Engineering/Technical qualification (HNC minimum or equivalent)
* Professional accreditation (advantageous)
* Understanding of engineering principles, legislation, and standards
* Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment or similar industries
* Experience in design and installation stages
* Knowledge of NEC contracts and CDM health and safety duties
* CSCS or equivalent card
* Proficient in MS Office and document management
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
