About us
At St Louis School we aim to achieve two things: that our children will achieve their true potential in academic, sporting or music success and that they will be the best possible citizens they can be in the future. Learning is at the heart of our school and we have the commitment of a well qualified and dedicated team of staff, supportive parents and Governors and pupils who are proud to belong to our school family.
About the role
This is a rewarding opportunity to work as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, supporting a child with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and communication difficulties. The role involves building positive, trusting relationships to help the child engage with learning and develop both socially and academically. You will play a key part in creating a safe, supportive environment where the child can thrive, using patience, empathy and clear communication to overcome challenges. The role can at times be demanding, so resilience, flexibility and a calm, consistent approach are essential. In return, you will have the satisfaction of knowing your support makes a real difference to a child’s progress and wellbeing.
About you
We are looking for someone who will:
Inspire and motivate our children with a love of learning
Have high expectations of children’s achievements and behaviour
Work effectively within a strong and committed team
Take a full and active role in all parts of school life
Be understanding and sympathetic to our Catholic ethos
Be committed to the safeguarding and well-being of our children
