Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role
Bridgestone Group are pleased to be working with a leading manufacturer based in South Wales who are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will lead maintenance activities, drive continuous improvement, and act as the primary escalation point for technical issues
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee maintenance activities and ensure asset health
* Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimise downtime
* Contribute to process optimisation and proactive maintenance routines
* Liaise with cross-functional teams to integrate predictive maintenance insights
* Troubleshoot complex engineering issues and lead root cause analysis
* Promote compliance with QHSE policies and standards
* Coach and mentor technicians to build a proactive maintenance culture
Shift Pattern; Day Shift, Monday to Friday
What We’re Looking For
* Strong mechanical engineering background with experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
* Proven ability to lead maintenance operations and drive improvements
* Hands-on problem-solving approach and excellent communication skills
* Familiarity with KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and preventative maintenance compliance
* Knowledge of EAM systems and predictive maintenance techniques
