The Uro‑Oncology Nurse Specialist is a high‑profile, dynamic, proactive and pioneering role. The specialist will make informed decisions and have managerial responsibility for nursing service delivery across urology specialist nursing services, focusing on improving patient experience and outcomes for patients with urological conditions.
Responsibilities
* Engage directly with medical and nursing teams in the management of urology cancer and benign urology patients, providing leadership, advice, collaboration and consultancy to ensure patients receive timely care.
* Develop consistent approaches to the strategic management of the patient group, including training and education, policy and guideline development, audit, research and implementation of evidence‑based care.
* Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct; contribute to corporate objectives and act within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies.
* Communicate effectively to maintain high‑quality service in a complex environment with competing priorities.
* Provide a high‑quality professional nursing service across the urology service, promoting best practice and implementing a review process looking at quality and efficiency.
* Contribute to development and implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines across departments, ensuring clinical governance is embedded in practice.
* Support the Divisional Director of Operations and the Group Director of Nursing in meeting service objectives and developing nursing services, deputising as required.
Qualifications
* Provide an immunisation and vaccination report from current UK occupational health provider or UK GP.
