Croydon CAMHS is excited to advertise 2 Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist roles within the Croydon CAMHS Crisis Team. We also consider a Band 6 developmental post for passionate clinicians requiring additional experience before progressing to Band 7. This may suit a clinician currently a Band 6 on a Tier 4 CAMHS ward seeking community-based career development, or a Band 6 liaison worker interested in CAMHS without prior experience with young people.
Applicants should have a minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Band 6. We offer a full-time substantive post (1 WTE) and a part-time option (22.5 hours).
Both posts are open to registered Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, or equivalent professionals.
The successful applicant will collaborate closely with peers, the Clinical Service Lead, and other professionals to provide safe care to young people presenting in A&E. They will ensure high standards of practice and clinical excellence, adhering to Trust policies and professional registration requirements. The role includes being a positive role model, practicing evidence-based care, and supporting professional development through clinical appraisal and supervision.
The responsibilities include:
1. Completing bio-psycho-social assessments of young people presenting to Croydon University Hospital in a mental health crisis.
2. Developing tailored safety plans to meet individual needs.
3. Conducting 7-day follow-up appointments for young people presenting in mental health crisis at A&E.
4. Leading and participating in discharge planning meetings.
