Are you keen to explore the world of learning again but in a secondary school classroom setting? Do you want a graduate role that allows you to gauge your success and your enjoyment of the role, prior to a long-term commitment?

Smile Education are looking for passionate and enthusiastic Science graduates fora Science Academic Mentor role working with students in KS3 and KS4. The Smile Graduate Scheme is a dedicated programme for graduates seeking their first step on the teaching ladder. It's a wonderful opportunity to gain experience in a range of classrooms and immerse yourself in school life.

Smile Education are working with an exclusive client based in West Bromwich who have unique opportunities for university graduates to gain experience in a range of classrooms as a Graduate Academic Mentor prior to applying for a PGCE. They are specifically looking for graduates with degrees relating to Science, but will also consider degrees of other subjects.

Staff are dedicated to students' progression - a great place to learn from the bestAs a graduate, your role will include:

Making full use of the training materials.
Working closely with the class teachers, gaining an insight into the planning and preparation of lessons.
Offering 1:1 support with children who have barriers to learning.
Creating extra academic support sessions to small groups of children.To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:
• Hold a relevant UK degree, ideally relating to Science but others may be considered
• Willingness to support teachers in every area of the curriculum
• Enthusiasm and openness to learning new skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
