Overview
We are looking to recruit to the Band 3 Vaccinator roles across the Aberdeen City vaccination program for a fixed term period from until end December 2026. This will be within vaccination centres, outlying city community clinics and schools. Successful individuals may also be required to assist in other areas.
Responsibilities
Applicants should have completed relevant competencies for phlebotomy. They will be expected to complete the Associate vaccinator competencies within the first month of the start date. They must be able to demonstrate a high standard of care, so that the immunisation programme is carried out safely, effectively and according to national policies. Applicants must have good time management and should be an active team player, but also be able to work on their own initiative. They need to have an open, friendly manner with excellent communication skills, as they can be dealing with a diverse range of people from all age groups, occasionally resulting in stressful situations.
Qualifications
Ideally, applicants will have completed the PEIP for HCSW vaccinators course, where they will have an increased knowledge of vaccinations and service delivery. They must be willing to undertake further training in relation to the administration of different vaccines going forward to incorporate the whole vaccination programme for all ages.
Hours of work
Hours of work are preferably fulltime, 36 hrs however part time will be considered (minimum 2 days), and days of work may be over 6 days.
